John partnered with The Timothy Group in November 2014, bringing a stewardship-oriented call to encourage, challenge and equip ministry leaders, passion for faith-based organizational health and wide-ranging experience in development. His heart is to engage “Aaron” and “Hur” support (Exodus 17:11-13) through real-time assessment, strategic facilitation and practical next-level initiatives. For nine years within a local church, John served the lead pastor and more than 2,600 average weekend worshipers as Executive Pastor for Planning, Operations and Communications. As a result of God’s blessings, attendance more than doubled during the span. As a 16-year Divisional Community Relations and Development Director for The Salvation Army, his work included program analyses, strategic planning and board development. Reflecting his broadcast and print media experience, John served also as the organization’s disaster public information officer in multiple states, including the Oklahoma City bombing, Red River flooding in Minnesota and North Dakota and “9/11” response at The Pentagon. He has spoken on various development topics at national and regional conferences. A Charlotte, N.C. native, John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Blessed with four sons and four daughters, John and wife Marie serve as Elders at Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius, N.C.
