Western Carolina Rescue Ministries located in Asheville, NC has contracted with The Timothy Group to assist them with a capital campaign that would allow them to completely rebuild their facilities on the existing site. The Board received affirmation that this ambitious vision is indeed realizable with the receipt of two significant grants for their capital campaign in recent months. The first, a $500,000 grant from a local community foundation, was quickly followed by notification of another in the amount of $1.0 million, from a regional bank. This brings total proceeds for the campaign--still in its early leadership phase--to just over $4.0 million. The organization had set $4.0 million, half the total campaign goal, as a critical benchmark to be achieved by the end of the year in order to proceed with the project as scheduled. These grants allowed them to meet this goal with only days to spare. The money is badly needed to replace its dilapidated old buildings. Says Vic Howard, Executive Director: "The economy has been taking its toll on folks and our services are needed now more than ever. Last week alone we had to turn away 25 individuals because we didn't have the facilities to house them. This campaign is critically important in order for us to meet the growing needs of our community, and The Timothy Group has been a phenomenal partner with us. In light of everything that's been going on these days I can't imagine trying to do this without their professional help and expertise."
