Capital Campaigns
A comprehensive capital campaign seeks to raise contributions for operating, capital and endowment needs. The Timothy Group believes that there are more advantages to running a Comprehensive Capital Campaign, for all three of these purposes, than to compete internally between annual fund raising, capital fund raising and planned giving.

Church Campaigns
Church Capital Campaigns of The Timothy Group are developed upon the foundation of stewardship as a lifestyle; a lifestyle resulting from priorities reflecting the values put forth in God's word. Understanding that each church community is unique, we provide three opportunities to serve the church in capital campaigns. Each opportunity includes the same Congregational Readiness Review to prepare the church community for the campaign, the same materials and campaign phase training and preparation, and the same support in the fulfillment phase. Stewardship Life, Stewardship Emphasis, and Stewardship Walk offer different levels of involvement by the Timothy Group consultant and provide the opportunity for churches of different sizes and campaign experience to select the program that best fits their situation.

Congregational Readiness Reviews
An empirical study providing every family in the church community the opportunity to give their confidential input regarding the plans of the church and their willingness to participate in the planned campaign. The Timothy Group directs the development of the case statement and questionnaire and assists the church in segmenting the study participant list into three groups based upon attendance and involvement. The church community completes the questionnaire, data is received and tabulated, and a comprehensive study report is developed. The study analysis and recommendations are presented to the church leaders by the consultant and an Executive Summary is prepared for distribution to the church community.

Stewardship Life
Following the completion of the Congregational Readiness Review The Timothy Group provides position descriptions for each leader in the campaign and assists the church in the identification and recruitment of each leader. The Timothy Group provides an individual manual for each leader that describes the committee's responsibilities. A master campaign manual is provided for the campaign chair. During the initial meeting of the campaign leadership the consultant provides an overview of the campaign components. Then the consultant meets with individual committee leaders to guide their understanding of their committees' specific responsibilities. During this period the campaign calendar begins to take shape and the decisions of the campaign leadership create a unique campaign strategy.
The Timothy Group consultant, along with the campaign chair, serve as campaign manager. Counsel is on site approximately every two weeks during the campaign period. Counsel is available at others times by phone and e-mail.
After the campaign phase, the Fulfillment Phase begins. During this thirty-six month period there is ongoing encouragement to the church community. The Timothy Group provides direction in the fulfillment phase: incorporating a quarterly review by the campaign leadership, sending quarterly material to encourage individuals in their personal and family stewardship journey for the church to distribute on its web site, through the church bulletin, or by newsletter. During this phase there is opportunity for emphasis on educating church members in the development of a Christian estate plan.

Capital Campaigns
Timothy Group Capital Campaigns are developed upon the foundation of stewardship as a lifestyle; a lifestyle resulting from priorities reflecting the values put forth in God's word. The capital campaign proceeds through 4 distinct phases: Pre-Campaign Study, the Leadership phase, the Campaign phase, and the Fulfillment phase. Whether you need to raise tens of thousands or tens of millions of dollars, we will help you develop and implement a campaign plan that is unique to your ministry. Using an experienced consultant that understands your ministry, will likely double the amount of money that you would raise on your own. Pat McLaughlin's book The C Factor is available at our web store.

Pre-Campaign (Feasibility) Studies
The first phase of a capital campaign is a Pre-Campaign or Feasibility Study to determine what the likely response of your total constituency will be to the proposed capital campaign, based on a survey of a portion of your constituents. The Timothy Group helps you develop a case statement for the proposed campaign, questionnaires to be used in the survey, assists in the segmentation of survey respondents according to personal, telephone, or mail/email response modes. We provide timelines, forms, and our project manager takes you through every step of the process. Timothy Group interviewers do the personal and telephone interviews; the consultant gathers the data, writes the report and personally presents it to your leaders. The report includes all the data, our analysis of it, key findings, recommendations and a blueprint for the campaign. The comprehensive nature of our report sets us apart from the competition. The blueprint includes proposed volunteer and staff structure, campaign timeline, budget, and a divisional goal breakdown. Our reports are tailored to each client, not boiler plate, and lists people who said they would be donors or volunteers, and names suggested of prospective campaign leaders and donors.
|
Leadership (Quiet) Phase
After the Pre-Campaign Study is complete, and when you are ready to move forward into the campaign, The Timothy Group will help you to begin prayer support, plan and implement public relations activities, recruit campaign leaders, develop a detailed campaign plan, guide any administrative changes needed, and assist in the solicitation of board, employees and major donors. By the time this phase is ended your campaign should have 50-75% of your goal committed.
|
Campaign (Public) Phase
When the Leadership Phase of the campaign is done The Timothy Group will help you to implement the campaign plan in the campaign or public phase. This is the time when all the rest of your constituent groups are introduced to the campaign. Promotional materials are unleashed, solicitors are trained, every possible donor is challenged in as effective a way as possible to commit to the campaign. When this phase is done your commitments must equal or exceed your campaign goal. The Timothy Group will help you get there on-time, keeping the campaign a priority for all involved.
|
Fulfillment Phase
When the Campaign Phase is over, you are still not done. What you do in the Fulfillment Phase will assure that commitments are paid and position you for the future. The Timothy Group will establish a plan of action for you to follow during the Fulfillment Phase and help you through it. Not doing the right things could result in pledge losses and constituents losing interest .
