Organization
Overview
CBN is a
multifaceted nonprofit organization that provides programming by cable,
broadcast and satellite to approximately 200 countries, with a 24-hour
telephone prayer line. Chief among CBN's broadcasting components is The
700 Club, a daily television program featuring Pat Robertson, Terry
Meeuswen, Gordon Robertson, Kristi Watts and news anchor Lee Webb. On the
air continuously since 1966, The 700 Club is one of the longest-running
programs in broadcast history. Seen in 97 percent of the television
markets across the United States, the show's news/magazine format
presents a lively mix of information, interviews, and inspiration to an
average daily audience of one million viewers.
CBN’s other Ministries include
Operation Blessing, The Prayer Counseling Center, CBN WorldReach, and
CBN.com.
Information
Technology
The prominence of CBN’s
Broadcast component, along with its close relationship with its donor
community, presents a need for a very sophisticated IT capacity at
CBN. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Business
Intelligence, and Data Mining are integral to its operations. A
great deal of work remains in order to make these systems robust enough
to keep pace with the industry, and the need for substantial integration
requirements remains in order to attain a seamless environment between
these application systems, broadcast technology, call center technology,
and the Internet.
A key objective of the incoming
Executive Director, Application Development will be to evaluate their CRM
system, as well as third-party systems, in order to deliver a functional,
stable CRM system for years to come. The desired outcome is more
effective constituent acquisition and retention.

The Christian Broadcasting
Network stands at an important juncture in its journey of becoming a
truly global ministry. The basic technology infrastructure is in
place, but substantial advances in applications and integration need to
occur in order to meet the challenges ahead. In order to achieve
its vision for global evangelism, the ministry needs increasingly
effective information systems. CBN believes that now is time to
push its technology capability forward and jump to the next level.

comes from the highest level. CEO Gordon Robertson’s understanding
of IT is both broad and deep. He is strategic in his thinking, and
is willing to be an aggressive sponsor with the Board of Directors for
proposed solutions that are well-researched, proven, and can be
demonstrated to add value to the overall IT portfolio.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will
possess a proven, successful track record of bringing about the changes
necessary to achieve the overall mission of the organization. Key
accomplishments will include:
- Collaborating/partnering
with the executive team and cross-functional business units to
understand the business needs and developing technology strategy to
meet those needs.
- Executing a world-class
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. The Executive
Director, Application Development must assess existing technology
for improvement or possible replacement, and deliver a solution that
will meet the business needs. This will include enhancing Business
Intelligence, Data Mining, and Segmentation capabilities.
- Embracing Internet
technology.
- Building highly effective
Application Development teams
- Establishing, building,
and instituting robust System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
processes, procedures, standards, and controls across all of
Application Development.
